Ode to an Idiot (Warning)

Here's a reminder, of why you shouldn't.

Remember that look, when you tell people.
That look of "god she's done it again".
Those people in your life who love you,
Who watch you fuck it up, watch you stuck on repeat.

You already know how it goes.
You've read this book before, you know the ending.
Six months or six years, it's all the same.
Give yourself a break and don't do it again.

It goes a little something like this:
You like them, you win them,
They like you, you love them,
They love you, you let them in.

You tell them things, you show them things.
They see the scars, they hear the stories.
They learn about your priorities,
They learn that they can never be top.

Because of the looks, the listening,
The understanding. You think This Is It.
Then you go too far.
You let them see you in the dark place.

You do it on purpose. You know;
No one can see you
In the Dark Place
And survive it.

Storm clouds gather, moods change, and very quickly
You're stuck. Stuck in the dark, wanting them to leave you and
Wanting them to save you all at once.  They don't know what to do.
You hate them for not knowing. You push them away.

And we end up here. Again.
